For five years I published a tabloid magazine for animal-lovers in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, which grew in circulation from 6,000 to 17,000 copies. Founded by me and my dog Brisket in 2011, Bosque Beast went from an 8-page newsletter to a beautiful, sophisticated magazine with a devoted fan base. Brisket and I did it all ourselves, from assigning stories to reporting and writing, layout, ad sales, ad creation, and maintaining the website and Facebook page.

Often I took photos as well as reporting and writing stories. I worked with a number of talented graphic designers on layout.
